Our Process
We are a full service architectural building design firm specializing in traditional and contemporary Cape-style architecture. Our process involves our clients every step of the way. From initial concept to final construction, we work closely with our clients to ensure their needs are met.
Architecture for your Lifestyle
Consultation
I meet with each of my clients to explain my design process, and to provide them with a list and expected timeline for deliverables. This is also where I determine their needs and wants, and where I gain an understanding of their construction budget
Existing Conditions
For each project, our team will thoroughly document the dimensions, lot, and qualities of my client's home. While documenting existing conditions, I gain a feel for the home and further understand the client's taste and style.
Preliminary Design
This phase is the creation of preliminary design drawings. I prepare floor plans and elevations, covering all proposed work, as well as alternative ideas.
Design Development Phase
This phase of the project will include CAD drawings that block out floor plans and elevations of completed preliminary design at ¼” scale.
Town Approvals
Prepare and file necessary documents with required town committees for approval while coordinating with site engineer or attorney when needed.
Construction Documents & Structural Approval
Plans to include the following: foundation plans for additions to house, floor plans, elevations, sections through all changes in building configuration, framing plans and details, and exterior details.
